There's something about the feeling I get when I walk through a train yard that makes me feel like a kid again. At one point in my life I used to paint boxcar art (graffiti on trains) because my mom didn't want me tagging up my neighborhood. Some kids liked video games and others enjoyed organized sports, I preferred climbing around these iron beasts perfecting my typography skills. Long story short, it only made sense that I somehow ended up designing logos for one of the most iconic train companies on the east coast, Norfolk Southern. Perhaps my past experience climbing around train yards as a kid influenced my ability and understanding of what goes into iconic badge design.
