WGL + Verizon Center
In 2014, WGL - a diversified energy business that provides natural gas, electricity, green power, carbon reduction and energy services throughout the DMV area launched their new brand. Since then, I've been working hard to help share their story throughout DC. My favorite project so far was this environmental build-out focused around the recent "greening" partnership between WGL and the Verizon Center. My concept was to use large-scale type and color, simple brand messaging, and effective storytelling to capture the essence of the WGL brand and leave a clear impression with anyone that enters the space. The type conveyed a narrative typographically and was designed to feel simple, clean, and right to the point. It had to be easy to retain in such a high traffic area. This concept is based off the idea that simplicity can be ultimately sophisticated.
